
Italian dining is progressive. It begins with antipasti, or appetizers. This is followed by primi, the first course, usually a pasta dish. Secondi, the second course, is a meat dish. This is the one around which the meal centres. The meal concludes with dolce, literally meaning sweet – the dessert.
