About
In all the excitement of opening the Urban Deli, we neglected one of our online pages – this one. Who exactly are we?
“We” is a number of people. Essentially, however, the Urban Deli is the dream, focus, even obsession, of Liz Rowe, the owner, who has had the idea of a deli-style restaurant for quite a few years. People who know her are familiar with the reveries she often fell into as she described how she envisioned it: a deli restaurant (though not exclusively) where everything came together, such as the meats, the breads, the salads, the beverages … and so on.
Also the décor. And the service. In fact, Liz puts enormous emphasis on service. She believes any restaurant should be more than food. Though food is at the core, it’s also the people, the atmosphere and, yes, the service.
There is a great crew of people working here at the deli, from the kitchen to out on the floor to behind the scenes with the hidden details (like paperwork and finances!). Now that the Urban Deli is up and running, we’d love to meet everyone in Saint John and beyond, so please drop in for a visit and a bite.
And if you have any comments, suggestions or other feedback, please pass them along. We’d love to hear what we’re doing right and what needs some work.
That’s how we’ll get even better!

Wow you made it! Congrats on your opening and I hope to make it down soon for a good sandwich at the big table. Cheers from your friends at Isaac’s Way!

Thanks Jason! Good to know our friends at Isaac’s way in Fredericton are thinking of us.
You also reminded us that we hadn’t updated our about page now that we’re open. So now we have!

Just wanted to send out a big thank you to Elizabeth, Gord, Wes … and the whole gang at the Urban Deli. I had a great, great time Saturday night. Thank you so much for the opportunity to play some of my tunes. Hope we can do it again somewhere down the road. All the best!
